NatSecGirlSquad is still actively soliciting requests for support, and donations for those impacted by the partial shutdown. Over the last 4 weeks, #NatSecGirlSquad has provided: ~$4000 in assistance to people impacted by the furlough; reviewed the resumes of more than 51 people looking for work as a result of the shutdown in person and virtually; connected more than a dozen furloughed employees to opportunities for short-term and full-time work; and bought about 17 rounds of drinks.

The House Oversight IT Subcommittee is Dead. The panel’s responsibilities—which include oversight of FITARA and other federal tech initiatives—will be swept up by the Government Operations subcommittee.
Agencies Have 10 Days to Review, Secure Critical IT Weakness. The Homeland Security Department’s cybersecurity office issued an emergency directive requiring agencies to secure their Domain Name System infrastructure.
At long last, the Library of Congress has launched a unified calendar for all House and Senate hearings and markups. Appropriators put the requirement into legislation last year (at our request). It's still a work in progress; check it out here.
